In celebration of DC’s 17th Annual Caribbean Carnival, Kellie Williams challenges her DC roots to enjoy the stylistics of the Proverbs Band and hilariously funny comedian Len Barksdale, all in support of the dreams of youth hoping to excel in the arts and humanities. For Summer 2009, Kellie Williams Programs (Prosperity Media) in conjunction with Comcast Cable Television presents a new summer opportunity for District of Columbia students called “Teen Time”.
Kellie Williams Programs is the brainchild of actress Kellie S. Williams. A native of Washington, DC, Williams won over the hearts of thousands as the sensible, smart and sassy Laura Winslow on the highly successful ABC television network series “Family Matters.” As a child actor, Williams was able to showcase her infectious brand of humor, wit and comedic timing each week and often credits her success to the performing arts training she received growing up in Washington, DC. All grown up, Kellie continues to be a master performer and when she is not commanding an audience on stage or film, she is fulfilling her lifelong goal of investing in the lives of young people, through enriching cultural experiences and providing formal performing arts training.
